When you start the Neo and X/Windows starts up there is a short time when you will see the usual X/Windows mouse pointer (a solid black X in the middle of the screen). You can move the X with your finger or stylus.
The first time you start up the smartphone with a new kernel/file system, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. The calibration tools, xtscal and ts_calibrate, both allow recalibrating the touch screen. The calibration information is stored in /etc/pointercal and is updated after running the tool.
The ts_test utility is handy for testing the screen. Edit the file XnullXXnullXfilesapplications (application)filesbuttons (button)filesfiles (file)filespaths (path)filesprograms (program)filesmenus (menu)XnullXfilesfiles/usr/share/tslib/ts-2.6.conf to change configurations. This is useful if you see the screen jitter around a point that you touch on the screen.

The variance module reduces random effects on the screen.
The dejitter module handles the de-jittering of the touch screen display.
The screen is a very nice screen but it is almost impossible to see it in typical sun light.
